Eeep! This is one of the most fun (and time consuming) DIY projects I have taken on, and it came out so great! I've been eyeing this denim jacket at Gap for a while but wanted to wait until it went on sale (because, duh) and I ended up scoring it for $20. I sure love a good sale. Before I even purchased it, I knew I wanted to do an awesome DIY on it whether it was distressing it, or patching it up. I stumbled upon a cool video of a signature jacket, and it happened to be on a denim jacket so I took my shot at it.


 Here are a couple of shots I took during the uber-long process of hand embroidering this little guy. I worked on the jacket over the course of about two weeks, working one to two hours at a time. This project can definitely be finished in one day if you have the entire day free.

I'm absolutely loving off the shoulder tops for the summer time. I paired this super cute top (a DIY) with my printed flared pants, some lace up sandals, and a matching bandana! This was such a quick and comfortable outfit to wear and is definitely a go-to for me.

I'm married! My husband and I tied the knot on March 26, 2016, and we had a blast sharing it with a small amount of our family and friends. We appreciate everyone who came to share this wonderful day with us - a day I'm sure neither of us will forget. For this post, I just wanted to share a few shots from our wedding day. Yay for new things! Boo to spending money instead of saving it. Let's just say it's an investment into elevating my personal style. Ha!

 I made my first order to ColourPop on the January 2nd and received my items in the mail on January 9th. I ordered an Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper, the Lippie Stix Primer, and a Creme Gel Liner in Swerve (Black). I've gotten the chance to use all three of the products, and they're all pretty great! Beeper is a gorgeous color, very matte and long lasting; I can see why it's such a best-seller on the ColourPop website. The Primer works well under regular lipsticks and helps to prevent feathering. I bet it will do an even better job under ColourPop's Lippie Stix which are next on my list to try. The black eyeliner works well, but it isn't waterproof. It stays put in the waterline for a bit, but eventually starts to fade within an hour or so.  

I've also purchased a new foundation from Laura Mercier called the Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation. I got mine in the shade Chai, and it's a perfect match for my winter complexion. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin, and it's a build able medium coverage foundation.

Happy 2016, everyone! And happy first post of the new year. Today I wanted to share with you an outfit I wore in December before the snow began to fall. If you didn't know, it only snowed like once in Chicago in December. So far it has been the most mild winter I can ever remember. It was mainly windy and rainy all month long, so I was able to get away with not wearing a heavy winter coat or boots. 
I kept this outfit smart-casual with a pair of black trousers, an oversized scoop neck tee paired with a bralette underneath. Oversized coats are all the rage and perfect for the mild weather (I would opt for a thicker coat for the snow). In 2015 I learned that I'm slightly enamored with sneakers, so I added to my slowly growing sneaker collection and finished this outfit with all white adidas superstars. 
I'm going to miss the mild winter weather, but bring on the snow so we can hurry and get to spring!
