Gingham Skirt
Necklace - Twelve Oh Six | Shoes - Steve Madden | Sweater - Zara |
The Exaggerated Flare
Necklace - Twelve Oh Six | Shirt - Marshall's | Pants - Missy Empire | Shoes - Zara (similar) |
As you can probably tell by the past few posts, I've been on a gingham kick. I spotted these pants on Lissy Roddy and they were instantly calling my name. They are seriously comfortable, and so cute! They are definitely on trend by mixing an exaggerated flare leg with a gingham print. What makes these pants even more fun is that they aren't in the traditional black and white print, but red and white. Being that it's red and white, it was a bit trickier to style. I knew I was going to wear my staple white sneakers, but it took a while to find the perfect casual top. I ended up finding this awesome graphic tee in the mens section at Marshalls for less than $10! It has a super adorable flamingo and palm tree graphic on it that compliments the pants so nicely. I could've went for a white top, but I wanted to add some contrast to the look.

The One Where I Forgot To Hit Post
Hello, Friends reference. I've never seen a single (full) episode of Friends in my nearly 24 years of living, but for some reason I know how the show's titles were crafted. Anyways, I totally shot and forgot to actually post this "New In: Beauty" post, so I thought I'd share it anyways and give an update on my thoughts on these products!
Spoiler alert: I love them. If you've been following for the past few months you'd know that I'm a Glossier Rep, and I use their products basically everyday. I'll stick to telling you all about the two featured products in this post, or else I'll go off on a tangent. Let's get into it.
Milky Jelly Cleanser: I love this guy. At first, I didn't love it because this cleanser doesn't lather. I'm a Clauisonic user, and all of the face washes I use (i.e. Purpose, Cetaphil Daily Cleanser, etc.) all lather up. Milky Jelly is reminiscent of Cetaphil's Gentle Cleanser, but does a much better job IMO at taking off makeup. I use Milky Jelly daily, and if I want a deeper cleanse, then I'll go in with my Clauisonic in conjunction with one of my sudsy cleansers. This is a great cleanser to use when you want to quickly take off your makeup, or when you just wake up in the morning. I love that the scent is light (it's made with rose water), and doesn't linger. It also doesn't burn my eyes which is another plus! I've been using it daily for a month now after previously using it sparingly, and I can say I'm a believer in Milky Jelly.
Boy Brow: Wow, I can't get enough of this one. You guys know I have barely there eyebrows (check them out in this post) and Boy Brow really amps them up. Boy Brow gives the illusion that my thin eyebrow hairs are thicker and darker, and helps them stay in place all day. I use Boy Brow alone and with my other eyebrow product. It's great for me on days that I have to quickly run to Target or Trader Joe's and don't want to put on my aqua brow. If you've got brows like mine, you'll definitely want to try out Boy Brow.
If you're new to Glossier and want to save some money and get product recommendations, shop with me at http://glossier.com/reps/aliciaenkhulzii! You'll save 20% off your first order, and get free shipping if you buy 2+ items. Phase One set has recently dropped in price (yay!) and you'll get Milky Jelly, Balm dotcom, and Priming Moisturizer for only $40 (plus the 20% off)!
Let me know what you guys think about these products if you've used them before.

Buy or DIY: Gingham Dress
Necklace - Twelve Oh Six | Shoes - Zara (similar ) |
The Reformation dress is $178. My DIY was less than $10.
I'm back with another Buy or DIY, and this time I decided to tackle a dress I've been coveting for months now. But, you know me. There is absolutely no way I was going to spend $178 (plus tax) on anything that isn't home decor or a plane ticket. I browsed the internet to find a nice dupe for the Mason dress, and the few that I found had terrible material. I wanted a nice weighted fabric that would last in the wash. So, off to Joann I went.
I found a cotton fabric with the gingham print for about $5.99/yard, and purchased 2 yards of it. I also bought 1 yard of lining fabric which I only ended up using 1/4 of. If you didn't know, Joann constantly has coupons so I used a 50% off one regular priced cut of fabric coupon, and a 40% off one regular priced item coupon to save some money. I already had my invisible zipper and thread at home, so I was ready to go.
In order to make this dress, I studied the reformation dress for hours. Unfortunately, they didn't have the measurements for this dress online so I had to decide what length I wanted it to be based on my own preference and the photos of the dress. The top is in 5 pieces - 3 in the front, 2 in the back. The skirt was cut to my hip measurements then I added 4 darts to help it fit around my waist and accommodate my butt (this measurement was the same as the bottom of the top tube to make sure it would fit). I didn't make my straps adjustable because the dress is made specifically for my body.
In total, this dress took me about a week to make. The top of the dress was definitely a challenge especially since I didn't have a pattern to go off of. It was definitely worth it, though!
