Trending: Glasses

Non-RX glasses are one of my current favorite trends. Firmoo.com reached out to me to review a pair of glasses of my choice from the hundreds they have available on their site. Firmoo is an global online optical store that is super easy to navigate and has great customer service! I loved the process of choosing my glasses online and being able to “try them on” virtually. Glasses are super on trend right now, and it’s great that there are so many frames to choose from (and you can also get any pair filled with your prescription!)

Check out my full video review here!

Firmoo is having a super awesome promotion where you can get two pairs of glasses for the price of one! Buy one pair and get one pair for FREE from http://bit.ly/firmooglassesbogo.

I'm a Glossier Rep!

I've been using (and obsessed with) Glossier products for a while now, so when they reached out to me to become a rep I said yes, of course! I do get a small commission when you shop with my link, but you also get 20% off your first order! I'd call that a win-win situation.

Today, I'm going to share my favorite Glossier products with you. These guys are the ones I think you should try out first if you're itching to delve into the realm of Glossier.

Starting out with my all time favorite product, one that I never leave the house without, my Rose Balm Dotcom. I use this to moisturize my lips, I put some on the dry patches on my face, and use it when I don't have any hand cream on my person. Even if I'm not carrying a purse that day, I'm guaranteed to have my Balm Dotcom in the back right pocket of my jeans. It is my holy grail beauty product of all time. If there's anything you're going to start out your glossier journey with, it's the Balm Dotcom.

My second favorite Glossier product is the Boy Brow. This was the first Glossier product I heard about when I initially learned of the brand. The Boy Brow actually does wonders for my super thin brows making the hairs stand out and stay in place. You can check out a dedicated video I made about the Boy Brow here! I like to wear this on top of my filled in brows, or when I don't actually feel like filling in my brows with the MUFE Aqua Brow but want to look like I actually have eyebrows on my face. This product definitely did not disappoint.

Next up, we've got the Priming Moisturizer. I use this guy as a foundation base (primer) because I find that it helps my makeup last longer throughout the day. As a moisturizer alone, it unfortunately doesn't do much for dry skin because it's a very lightweight product. It makes your skin look super radiant and on days I don't want to wear foundation, I put this on as a last step in my skincare routine (after my daily face moisturizer). If you're in need of a lightweight radiant primer, I would give this a try.

Finally, let's talk about the Milky Jelly Cleanser. This cleanser is unlike any I have used in the past. It feels so hydrating on my skin and does a good job at loosening up my makeup. I usually use this as my second cleanser, but recently I have been using it before I go in with my Clarisonic if I'm wearing makeup that day. I look forward to using this cleanser everyday because it feels as though I'm giving myself a mini facial each time I use it. It's also very soothing especially after using a physical exfoliant. I would definitely recommend this product to someone who has dry or combination skin.

Let me know what you're going to try from Glossier, and don't forget to shop with me to get an awesome discount!

Buy or DIY: Edition One

Sometimes when I'm shopping at the mall or online, I come across pieces that I become crazy about - but I'm not crazy about the price tag. This was the case with this SIR The Label jumpsuit. It retails for $250 and that's at least $200 more than I'm willing to spend on a jumpsuit I'd probably wear twice.
Instead of sulking over the fact that I would never actually spend that much money on an item of clothing (although it is CUTE), I decided to take my sewing machine out of retirement and attempt to recreate it! I added my own twist to the suit by adding a cut out in the front, made it fit a bit more snug, and finally extended the leg length a few inches. I bought two yards of this fabric from my local fabric store for a grand total of $3.98 plus tax. I had a black invisible zipper at home from a previous fabric store trip, as well as black thread.
As you all know, I have a degree in Marketing, not Fashion Design so I had to improvise a bit on this one. I began by watching a million tutorials on YouTube on how to make high rise wide leg pants (because obvs don't remember how to make pants from that one class I took Sophomore year of high school). I eventually gave up and found a pair in my closet and made a quick pattern by tracing out the front and back sides on some pattern paper - remembering to add seam allowance! For the top half, I went back to YouTube and found a few tutorials and freehanded a pattern for the top which ended up looking like misshapen triangles. I spent a lot of time measuring and re-measuring before and after cutting the fabric. I eventually changed the shape of the top because I wanted to show a bit more cleavage (lol who doesn't?). I assembled it all, and this was my final result! I'm absolutely crazy about it and I know a few things I would alter next time I try to make a jumpsuit (i.e. a little more wiggle room in the butt area).
Shout out to my sister, Ahleya, for giving me this genius idea for a blog series!
SIR The Label Jumpsuit = $250
My DIY = $4.37
What have you seen in stores that you'd rather DIY than buy?

Good Vibes Only

Jacket - Gap | Dress (similar) - XXI | Necklace - Twelve Oh Six | Shoes - Zara
I spotted this jacket in the mens section of Gap and I knew I needed to have it. It offers a nice casual vibe to any look like your S.O. gave you his jacket because you got cold. Yeah, that's the whole scenario I saw in my mind when I first tried on this jacket. And these shoes? I went back to Zara to buy them because I couldn't stop thinking about them. They were worth every penny.
What's your favorite part about this look? I can't decide!
