I love wearing makeup. It's such an awesome extension of ones personal style and it's even better that you can take it off at night! I think makeup can really enhance a person's features and it's a fun creative outlet. The base that you use can definitely make or break your makeup application and outcome. I've been on the hunt for my holy grail foundation, and I've yet to find it! These foundations all have their flaws, but these are the ones that are apart of my current arsenal.
NARS PURE RADIANT TINTED MOISTURIZER
This has been my go-to base for the summer for the past few years. I love the finish that this tinted moisturizer gives, and it has SPF! It's very easy to apply and blends like a dream. If this came in more colors, (i.e. not just my summer shade) it would definitely be my holy grail product. I use the shade Cuba.

BENEFITS
Lightweight
Paraben and sulfate-free
SPF
Radiant finish
LAURA MERCIER CANDLEGLOW SOFT LUMINOUS FOUNDATION
I have a love and hate relationship with this foundation. I only use this foundation in the wintertime because it's a bit too heavy for what I like for the summer. It claims to be sheer-to-medium coverage, but on my skin it's definitely more medium. I love that is definitely lives up to its name! It absolutely gives you a glow that looks like you're being lit by candlelight. It's magical in that way. What I don't love about it is that when I'm having my dry skin days, it clings to every single dry patch to matter how much I exfoliate/moisturize/prime my skin. On those days I find myself washing my face and just using a different foundation. Check out my video review here! I use the shade Chai.
BENEFITS
Available in 24 shades
Noncomedogenic
Soft radiant finish

THE ORDINARY SERUM FOUNDATION
On days that I want a lightweight coverage, I opt for The Ordinary Serum Foundation. I really like this foundation! It is very liquidy, but it gets the job done. I would call this a light-to-medium foundation because it is buildable. This one does cling to dry patches, though so beware of that. I reach for this foundation and the NARS Tinted Moisturizer more than any other ones. This foundation only costs $6.70, but you only have the option to buy it online. Check out my first impression of this guy, here! I use the shade 3.0Y.
BENEFITS
Offers 21 shades with different undertones
Alcohol, oil, silicone, nut, gluten, soy, water, & cruelty-free
Vegan
Natural, semi-matte finish
SMASHBOX STUDIO SKIN 15 HOUR HYDRATING FOUNDATION
I reach for this foundation when I'm going out at night, or when I want to do a complete full face of makeup (contouring, highlighting, the whole nine). This is definitely a full coverage foundation and I make sure to moisturize and prime before I use it otherwise my makeup will look dry and cakey. When I use this foundation, I'm definitely left with a matter finish. I do think they could come out with a few more shades though and change up the undertones a bit more. I use the shade 3.2.
BENEFITS
Offers 22 shades
Long lasting
Oil and paraben-free
I hope this was helpful! What is your favorite foundation, and which one should I try next?
