Say Yes to the Slip Dress
Slip Dress - Uniqlo | Turtleneck - Zara | Coat - Zara | Boots (Similar)- Zara | Lip Color - Colourpop |
Slip dresses have been my favorite trend over the past couple of seasons. If you thought they were only a summer trend, think again! You can easily layer your slip dresses over simple shirts like a t-shirt, mock neck shirt, or a turtleneck, like in this look. Keep your slip dresses near the front of your closet all year round with this simple trick. Every undershirt you pair with a slip dress will turn it into a whole new look, so go ahead and experiment. Have fun with this trend because I think it's going to be around for a while.
Date Night
Co-Ord - BooHoo | Shoes - Zara Hey guys! Oh boy, this outfit has me wanting to do a whole date night lookbook. I think if you're in an outfit rut, find yourself a cute co-ord set to wear. It's easy to throw on a co-ord since you don't really have to think too hard about what you need to pair with it. This tube top body con dress paired with its matching duster jacket is literally a match made in "fashion heaven". I loved how this dress gave me the appearance of having curves (finally!) and the jacket allowed for a bit of modesty in the arm department. I paired these chunky single strap heels from Zara with it to elongate my body and accentuate my legs. Love it! What is your go to glam date night outfit? x Alicia |

Tips for Clear Skin ft. Clarisonic
Hey ladies! Have you been wondering how to get your skin out
of the funk it’s been in? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Today I’m going
to share a few of my best tips for clear skin.
Tip #1: Take off your makeup every night.
Admittedly, I don’t always adhere to this tip but it is one
that needs to be strictly followed. If you’re feeling too lazy or have already
gotten comfortable in bed, just keep a pack of face wipes by your bedside. It’s
a lot easier to reach over to your nightstand and grab a wipe than it is to
walk all the way into the bathroom to do a whole routine. My favorite wipes are
the Simple Skincare Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes. These wipes remove all of my
makeup and doesn’t leave a residue on my skin. I love them!
Tip #2: Use a face brush.
This is a step that I don’t skip. I definitely attribute my
clear skin to the use of my Clarisonic. I’m currently using the Clarisonic Mia
2 Deep Pore set daily. Clarisonic devices cleanse the face six times better
than hands alone, and are gentle enough to use twice a day! This particular
device has two speeds and is great for any skin type. The Mia 2 gently cleanses
your skin and removes all of the dirt and oil that the makeup wipes didn’t get.
Clarisonics are also great gift ideas and with the holiday season coming up,
this is a gift anyone would love! From now until November 20, visit http://www.clarisonic.com/hercampus
and use the code HERCAMPUS to
receive 15% off of your purchase.
Love using my Mia 2 to cleanse my skin! |
Tip#3: Skip the toner & moisturize.
If you suffer from dry skin, skip the toner! I go for a
micellar water instead because it’s super gentle, removes excess oil, and is
more hydrating than toners. My favorite micellar water to use is the Simple SkincareMicellar Cleansing Water. After “toning” my face with micellar water, I then make sure to moisturize. My
favorite range of moisturizers comes from Cetaphil and I love using either the
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, or the Moisturizing Lotion. The lotion is great
for the summer, and the cream is best for winter months to keep your face
looking and feeling great!
I get the best results using a face brush to cleanse my skin. |

Crazy for Navy
Romper - UO | Hat - Love Culture | Shoes - Adidas |
I scored this super cute romper from the sale rack at Urban Outfitters for about $20 over the summer. I knew it would be so easy to dress this romper up with a pair of heels and a nice sister jacket, but I wanted to challenge myself a bit and make the vibe super casual. I went for a matchy-matchy look and popped on a navy cap and navy Stan Smiths. I tried this look wearing my hair loose, but in order to make it as casual as possible i tied my hair in a low twisted bun.
This outfit would also look super cute with a denim jacket to complete it, but considering it was 90 degrees the day we shot this look, that was not an option!
How would you dress down a printed romper?

The Minty Mask
Today, I'm testing out this 7th Heaven Tea Tree Peel-Off mask from Montagne Jeunesse! It claims to help purge pores, and clear skin. I don't really suffer from skin problems, but I do get the occasional pimple here and there. I wanted to give myself a bit of a pamper day and I'm glad I had this mask to try out!
The instructions said to spread a thin, even layer across the skin avoiding the eye area. I was also careful not to get this product onto my eyebrows because I'm not in need of an unintentional wax session today!
This mask was seriously SO refreshing! My skin felt so invigorated and awake while the mask was drying.
In the Garden
Summer or Fall?
Sporting my super summery duster cardigan along with my super fall-toned lace-up sandals. On this particular day, the temperature was about 75 degrees and to me, was quite chilly. I paired these two pieces with my favorite crop top, one of my DIY chokers (learn how to make them here!), and my fave go-to trousers from H&M. I'm not ready for summer to end! I already can't wait until next summer.

DIY Embroidered Jacket
Eeep! This is one of the most fun (and time consuming) DIY projects I have taken on, and it came out so great! I've been eyeing this denim jacket at Gap for a while but wanted to wait until it went on sale (because, duh) and I ended up scoring it for $20. I sure love a good sale. Before I even purchased it, I knew I wanted to do an awesome DIY on it whether it was distressing it, or patching it up. I stumbled upon a cool video of a signature jacket, and it happened to be on a denim jacket so I took my shot at it.
Here are a couple of shots I took during the uber-long process of hand embroidering this little guy. I worked on the jacket over the course of about two weeks, working one to two hours at a time. This project can definitely be finished in one day if you have the entire day free.
